CRM Hygiene Habits That Keep Sales Pipelines Honest

If source and next action are optional, the forecast is fiction.

Many Bangladeshi B2B teams buy CRM software and then leave stages optional. The dashboard looks busy while the forecast stays fiction. This note is original operations practice from funnels we have configured alongside WhatsApp and Meta lead forms.

Habits that stick

  • Every lead carries a source: Meta, Google, referral or walk-in. “Unknown” should be an exception report, not the default.
  • Stages need exit criteria. “Interested” is not a stage if nobody can say what evidence moved the row.
  • WhatsApp conversations should log an outcome back into the CRM. Otherwise the inbox is the real system and the CRM is theatre.
  • Managers review the pipeline weekly with the people who own the next action, not with a screenshot sent after hours.
