Conversion API Explained for Marketers Without Engineering Jargon

Server events are a backup when the browser pixel cannot see the purchase.

Marketers hear “CAPI” and assume a secret ranking boost. Conversion API is more boring: your server tells Meta that a lead or purchase happened when the browser pixel could not. This explanation is original to how we brief non-engineers in Dhaka. Official product help is on Meta’s site; we are not reprinting it.

If the website has no thank-you event, CAPI cannot invent one. If consent and privacy copy are missing, adding a server event does not make the setup honest. We implement CAPI after the pixel event names exist and after the domain is one the Business Manager actually claims.

What we tell founders

Expect better match quality on some purchases, especially on iOS browsers that limit cookies. Do not expect a miracle CPA on day one. Deduplication (pixel + server sending the same event id) is mandatory or you will double-count. That is an implementation detail, not a slogan.

IMRAN AHMED MOSHIO implements pixel and CAPI together with a written event list. Request that list via Contact.
